Pairing an NFC Tag with a G8 Device

Details about pairing an unpaired NFC tag with an assigned G8 device.

G8 users can quickly and easily set up their new NFC tag with the G8 assigned to them. When the NFC tag is paired to G8, the user details are transferred to the NFC tag.
Note: To pair an NFC tag, the G8 device must be assigned. You cannot pair an NFC tag to an unassigned G8. There is no limit to the number of NFC tags that can be paired to a single user. Once the tag is paired to a user, it is added to the user's organization. A Blackline Live Administrator can unpair a tag but cannot remove it from an organization and move it to a different organization.
  1. Press and hold the center button to navigate to the TagAssign menu. Use the left and right buttons to select Pair new NFC tag.
  2. Press the center button, then tap the NFC tag to G8.

    G8 sends a message to Blackline Live and the tag is now paired to the user. This tag can then be used to quickly assign the user to a different G8 device when needed.
G8 reads the NFC tag, updates its assigned status to the user details on the tag, and then sends the user details to Blackline Live.
