Why Are Groups Not Appearing in Analytics Reports?
If your Blackline Analytics reports do not show groups or the report displays everything under the All Devices section, access permissions or group settings may not have been correctly configured.
Blackline Analytics reflects configurations made in Blackline Live.
In Blackline Live, Org administrators have full visibility into all groups. However, in Blackline Analytics, Org administrators can only see the All Devices group by default.
Other common causes include:
Missing Group Manager: Groups without a defined Group Manager do not show up in Blackline Analytics.
Missing user permissions: The administrator does not have access permissions enabled for the specific group.
Group access configuration issues: Group access is not correctly configured.
Devices not assigned to groups: In this case, devices default to the All Devices group due to missing group-level breakdowns.
Group has no assigned users: Therefore, reports cannot be generated for that group.
- Confirm that devices are assigned to the appropriate groups. For more information, refer to Editing Group Details in the Blackline Live Technical User Manual.
- Check that the administrator has access to the specific group. For more information, refer to Editing Group Details in the Blackline Live Technical User Manual.
- Confirm that the group has at least one user with access. For more information, refer to Editing Group Details in the Blackline Live Technical User Manual.
- Check that the group and access-level configurations are correct in Blackline Live. For more information, refer to Editing Group Details in the Blackline Live Technical User Manual.
