Changing the Mic Membrane

The G8's mic membrane may accumulate dust and debris, which can cause people to not hear you when using Push-to-Talk (PTT). In this case, Blackline Safety recommends changing the mic membrane.

You need the following to change the mic membrane:

  • Spudger pry tool

  • Mic membrane replacement kit (ACC-G8-MSFK-XXX):

    • Mic membrane

    • Mic label

Note: The mic membrane replacement kit (ACC-G8-MSFK-XXX) also contains a speaker membrane replacement kit. It is recommended to change the speaker membrane and mic membrane at the same time. For details, see Changing the Speaker Membrane.
  1. Power off G8. For detailed instructions, see Powering off G8.
