Alert Profile Restrictions for Blackline-Monitored Organizations

If Blackline Safety's Safety Operations Center (SOC) or any of our Alarm Receiving Center (ARC) partners monitors your organization, only a Blackline Safety representative can change some parts of your alert profiles in Blackline Live. This keeps your emergency response protocol and alert settings in a format that SOC and ARC agents know and can act on quickly when they respond to an alert.

Note: These restrictions apply only to organizations that the Blackline Safety SOC or ARC partners monitor. They do not apply to self-monitored organizations.

Settings Only Blackline Safety Can Change

The following settings can only be changed by a Blackline Safety representative:

Emergency Response Protocol

The text box at the top of the alert profile contains your organization's emergency response protocol. SOC and ARC agents follow this protocol when they respond to an alert. You cannot edit this field.

A message under the text box explains that your organization is monitored professionally and that you can contact Technical Support to request changes to your emergency response protocol or alert preferences.

Device Alerts

The Device Alerts section lists the alert types that SOC and ARC agents respond to. You cannot change this section because changes to this list can create gaps in your safety coverage.

New Alert Profiles

You cannot create new alert profiles in Blackline Live.

To add a profile, contact Technical Support. A Blackline Safety representative creates it for you so that every profile in your organization matches the SOC or ARC workflow.

Settings You Can Change

You can change the following settings without contacting Blackline Safety:

  • Profile name

  • Emergency response contacts

  • Notified contacts

  • Device users

  • AlertLink settings

Update this information as soon as anything changes so that your alert profiles stay accurate.
