Changing the Metal Clip

Replacing a damaged G6 metal clip ensures G6 remains in good working condition.

To replace the G6 metal clip, you need the items below:

  • ACC-MC Metal Clip

  • Small flat head screwdriver

Note: Reach out to your Blackline Safety contact to purchase replacement metal clips using the part number ACC-MC.
Note: If G6's plastic retention ears are broken, your device must be sent in for repair.
  1. Power off G6. For instructions, see Powering off G6.
  2. Place G6 down on its screen to expose the metal clip.G6's back and a small flathead screwdriver.
  3. Push the small flathead screwdriver into the gap between the metal clip's base and G6's frame.Screwdriver slotted between G6 metal clip and frame.
  4. Use the screwdriver to lift the clip so it is slightly away from G6.
  5. Keep the clip lifted, then slide it upward with your other thumb.
    Note: If you encounter resistance, use the screwdriver to lift the clip further before sliding it with your thumb.
    The clip comes off.
  6. Get the replacement metal clip (ACC-MC).
  7. Align the bottom of the new clip with the top of the G6's clip retention ears.
  8. Slide down the clip through the retention ears until you hear a click.G6's metal clip replaced.
