Changing the Gas Sensor Filter and the Gas Sensor Cap

How to replace the G6 gas sensor filter and gas sensor cap.

You must replace the G6 filter when it becomes visibly soiled, or if bump test and calibrations fail repeatedly. You need the following:

  • Flathead screwdriver

  • Replacement filter (ACC-G6-FILT10)

  • Replacement gas sensor cap (ACC-G6-SENCAP) (optional)

Note:

Always perform maintenance procedures in a clean, dust-free environment. When handling G6, ensure that your hands are free from any hand sanitizer or cleaning product. 1. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently detach the gas sensor cap by inserting the screwdriver head between the gas sensor cap and the bottom edge of G6, and then twist the screwdriver to loosen the gas sensor cap.
  2. Remove the gas sensor cap, and then set it aside.
  3. Remove and discard the old filter, making sure to avoid contact with the gas sensor surface.
  4. Place the new filter over the sensor, ensuring that the filter gasket is facing toward the device and correctly aligned within the gas sensor socket.
  5. Install the existing or new gas sensor cap by inserting the cap brackets at an angle with the top of G6, and then press the bottom of the cap until it snaps into place.
