Continuous Flow Monitoring

During operation, pump-equipped devices monitor airflow and trigger a Pump Blocked notification if flow drops below the required level. Sampling is suspended until normal flow is restored.

  • G7/G8: Continuously monitors flow rate and adjusts pump speed to maintain target flow. If flow drops below 150 mL/min, a Pump Blocked notification is triggered.
  • EXO: Detects blocked flow during inlet operation. If airflow is interrupted or restricted, the affected inlet is disabled and triggers a Pump Blocked notification.

Common causes of reduced airflow include:

  • Kinked, crushed, or obstructed tubing.
  • Disconnected or improperly seated inlets.
  • Dirty or clogged inlet filters.
  • Cold temperatures below -20°C (-4°F).
Note:

Filter condition is not monitored. Clogged inlet filters may contribute to block conditions but are not called out explicitly in device behavior.
