Steps to send a PTT message from G8.

1. Press and hold the PTT button.
2. When G8 finishes beeping, continue to hold the button and speak clearly into the microphone, with the device about six inches from your mouth.

   A green banner displays when G8 is in a menu. If the Status screen or one of the Feature screens is displayed when the message is transmitting, the PTT screen displays in transmit mode.

   

   PTT messages can be up to 30 seconds in length. During events, the Sending banner covers all other banners until the PTT button is released.

   CAUTION:

   If you have an O₂ sensor, talk into G8's microphone and not the cartridge, as this could interfere with the sensor.

3. When you finish talking, release the PTT button.
   G8 beeps once to let you know it's done listening. It displays a green banner while it transmits the message.
