Troubleshooting

Use this section to identify and resolve common firmware update issues.

Device Not Recognized

  1. The device must be powered on or powered off and charging to be detected.
  2. Check the battery level. If the battery is low, charge the device before trying again.
  3. Verify that the cable is securely connected. Try disconnecting and reconnecting.
  4. Use a different USB port or cable if the device is still not detected.
  5. Ensure you've selected the correct G7 device model before updating. For more information, see Selecting Firmware By Device Type.

Stop Update Button Is Grayed Out

The Stop Update button is inactive until the update begins.

Start the update.
The Stop Update button becomes active.

Display Issues (UI Is Cut Off or Improperly Scaled)

The tool automatically rescales within a certain range.

If you experience display issues, make sure your display scale is configured correctly for your monitor resolution.

To configure the display scale:

  1. 1080p monitors: Set your display scale to 100%.
  2. 2K (1440p) or higher-resolution monitors: Set your display scale to 125% or 150% as needed.
  3. Windows 11: Go to Settings > System > Display > Scale, then select the appropriate scale.
  4. Windows 10: Go to Settings > Display > Scale and layout > Scale, then select the appropriate scale.
