Calibration Gas Requirements

Calibration Gas Selection

The sensor is specifically designed to measure methane concentration and should be calibrated using a methane-based calibration gas.

Calibration Gas Composition

For accurate and reliable calibration, follow these guidelines:

  • The calibration gas should ideally contain 50% LEL methane.

  • The gas mixture must not contain other combustible gases, as these may interfere with calibration accuracy.

  • Multi-component mixtures (e.g., Quad and Quint gas) may be used, provided methane is the target combustible gas.

  • The balance gas can be either air or nitrogen.

Note: The sensor does not require oxygen (O2) to function.
