Blackline Safety's testing establishes the following:

• Given the chemical nature of simple combustible gases (C₂ to C₆), the LEL-IR sensor responds differently to each combustible gas relative to methane.

• The sensor will not detect Hydrogen (H₂) or Acetylene (C₂H₂).

Blackline can advise on the use of this sensor under these conditions. However, the use of the sensor for detecting gases other than methane must be evaluated and approved by the end user.
