Flow Rate Requirements and Sampling Performance

Maintaining a stable sample flow rate is critical for accurate gas detection and proper pump operation. Low flow rates can delay sampling or prevent gas readings from updating properly.
  • EXO expects a normal flow rate of approximately 300 mL/min during sampling.

  • If the flow rate drops below 150 mL/min, EXO may trigger a Pump Blocked notification.

Conditions that can reduce the effective flow rate include:
  • Long or narrow tubing.

  • Kinked, crushed, or obstructed tubes.

  • Dirty or clogged pump inlet filters.

  • Operation in cold temperatures below -20°C (-4°F).

Regularly inspect tubing and inlet connections to maintain optimal pump performance.
