Response to Blocked Pump
When a Pump Blocked condition occurs, sampling is suspended through the affected inlet until normal airflow is restored.
- Sampling does not begin if the inlet is blocked at start-up.
- Sampling is suspended if a block occurs during operation.
- Manual pump block tests can be used to confirm that the condition has cleared.
- The blocked inlet remains inactive until airflow is restored.
Response varies by device type:
- G7/G8: If the pump cannot establish flow during start-up or mode entry, the device reverts to Diffusion mode (if available).
- EXO: Sampling does not begin from the affected inlet. Other inlets continue to operate if flow is valid.
The Pump Blocked condition remains active until flow is restored or the cartridge is replaced.
