Procedure to set up or view the gas detection mode from the Modes menu on G8.

1. From the Status screen, press the center button to display G8's Main menu.
   
2. Using the left and right buttons, scroll through the menu, then select Modes by pressing the center button. The Modes menu displays.
   
3. Using the left and right buttons, scroll through the menu and select a mode by pressing the center button. A prompt displays to confirm you want to switch to the selected mode.
   

   Note: Your device's active settings are flagged with a checkmark.
4. Select Yes by pressing the right button.
   

   If the mode selected uses a pump, G8 tests the pump flow before entering the mode.

5. Follow the steps on G8's screen to complete the block test, blocking and unblocking the gas flow when prompted. Select the center button to cancel the flow test at any time. If the block test fails, check G8's tubing and try turning on the mode again.
   

   When your device successfully activates the selected mode, the main screen's color scheme inverts, and the banner indicates the mode selected.

   Depending on the mode selected, G8 remains in the mode until it times out according to the settings in the configuration profile, or until you manually exit the mode.

6. To manually exit a mode and return to normal operation, open the Modes menu, then select Normal.
7. To extend the current mode, press the right button when prompted.
