Legacy Cartridge End-of-Life Notice and Transition to Cartridge F2

On May 5, 2026, Blackline Safety is officially retiring our legacy cartridge as we transition to Cartridge F2, our next-generation cartridge.

The transition to Cartridge F2 reflects our commitment to innovation and delivering industry-leading safety solutions, as Cartridge F2 is designed to meet enhanced performance standards for LEL sensors. When using the new cartridge, your device behavior will remain unchanged and you will not notice any differences in day-to-day operation. Cartridge F2 will also receive future firmware updates, including the new features available in the G7 3.505 firmware release.

How Does This Impact You?

While your legacy cartridges will continue to function as normal, they will not be compatible with future device firmware updates or fixes.

For cartridges under warranty, advanced replacements will be provided with a legacy cartridge based on available inventory. Once inventory is depleted, replacements will be provided with Cartridge F2. Repairs for sensor-related issues will be available.

If your cartridge is out of warranty or has a non-sensor related issue, you will need to upgrade to Cartridge F2. When replacing your cartridge, if you have an older device that does not support Cartridge F2, you will also need to upgrade your device. For more information about Cartridge F2 and device compatibility requirements, see the New Cartridge F2 Coming May 1, 2025 notification.
