Push Buttons and SOS Latch
A description of the G8's available push buttons, including the PTT and Flashlight buttons.
Center button: Press the center button to select or confirm menu options or to acknowledge pending high-urgency notifications. On Feature screens (TagAssign, Modes, and PTT), press and hold the center button to open the associated menu (e.g., TagAssign menu, Modes menu, and PTT menu).
Back Menu option: The Back option displays at the top of most G8 menus. To display the previous screen in the sequence, use the left or right button to highlight the Back option in the menu, then press the center button to select it. To display the Status screen, highlight the Back option, then press and hold the center button.
Left and Right buttons: Press the left or right button to scroll through the available menu options or cycle between the Feature screens (e.g., TagAssign, Modes, and PTT). Press and hold both the left and right buttons simultaneously to mute low- and high-urgency notifications.
SOS Latch: Pull down to call for help and trigger a high-urgency alert to monitoring personnel.
PTT button: Press and hold to send a Push-to-Talk (PTT) message. This button's function changes depending on the configuration profile. If PTT isn't enabled, the button may be configured to perform other tasks like Silent SOS or Early Check-In.
Side + / Side - : Scroll quickly through menu pages. Also use to change Feature screen settings, such as PTT options or the flashlight timer.
Flashlight button: Press to turn G8's intrinsically safe flashlight on or off. The flashlight automatically turns off after five minutes or after you press the flashlight button again.
