Non-Dispersive Infrared (LEL-IR)

Description of the LEL-IR sensor.

The Non-Dispersive Infrared (LEL-IR) sensor detects combustible gases using infrared absorption. It is suitable for use in oxygen-deficient or inert environments.

Note: The F2 LEL-IR Pump Cartridge only operates in pump mode, regardless of configuration.

The LEL-IR sensor:

  • Does not detect Hydrogen (H2) or Acetylene (C2H2).
  • Is resistant to poisoning, contamination, and electromagnetic interference.
  • Must be calibrated in a flammable-free environment using appropriate span gas.
Note: LEL-IR sensors are impacted by temperature. For more details, see Cartridges and Extreme Weather.
