Updating the Network Keys

Follow the steps below to update G7x/G7 Bridge device network keys using the MLink Key Configuration Tool:
  1. Plug the flash drive containing the MLink Key Configuration Tool into a Windows computer.
  2. Unzip the ZIP archive named MLink Key Configuration Tool v0.0.100.zip.
  3. Copy the MLink Key Configuration Tool folder to a suitable location on the computer.
  4. Open the tool folder, then double-click on the MLink Key Configuration Tool v1.0.0 application.
    A modal opens for Terms & Agreement.
  5. Review the terms and select Agree.
    The tool's main UI opens.
  6. Type in a new network key in the M-Link Key field.
  7. Select the lock icon. This prevents changes to the network key during the update process.
    The icon changes to a locked state.
  8. Connect the network cables to the computer. You can connect up to four network cables at a time.
  9. Select Refresh.
    The tool updates the COM ports to include the network cables.
  10. Select only the ports with network cables attached.
    Note: Devices connected to the computer, such as headsets and USB serial adapters, are assigned COM ports. To confirm the correct COM ports to use, see Checking for COM Ports.
  11. Select Play to start the tool.
    The tool enters an Awaiting state. It is ready for devices.
  12. Connect a G7x/G7 Bridge device to the computer using the network cable. You can connect up to four devices.
    Note: The connected devices must be powered on.
    The tool detects devices in the selected COM ports and updates their network keys.
After a successful network key update, the G7x/G7 Bridge device turns off. When the device turns off, disconnect it from the computer. When the MLink Key Configuration Tool returns to the Awaiting state, it is ready for the next device.
