If any output fails to activate during the start-up self-test, the test is considered failed. In most cases, gas detection does not begin until the issue is resolved.

Failure handling varies by device:

• G7/G8: Performs a single self-test at start-up. If the test fails, the failure must be addressed manually before gas detection can continue.
• EXO: Retries the self-test automatically up to two more times. If all attempts fail, the condition is logged and reported to Blackline Live.
