A mathematical equation applied to gas sensor readings to provide a more accurate reading. Most sensors are only fully accurate to the gas it has been calibrated with. When detecting gases that are not the calibration gas, correction factors must be applied to ensure that an accurate reading is given. Depending on the device and sensor, correction factors can be automatically applied, or manually applied by a worker.
